ACTREG ASR 130 S14 FC – Spring Return Pneumatic Quarter-Turn Actuator (Fail Closed)
The ACTREG ASR 130 is a robust rack & pinion pneumatic actuator designed for automating 90° quarter-turn valves such as ball and butterfly valves. In FC (Fail Closed) spring return configuration, the actuator is engineered to drive the valve to the safe (closed) position on loss of air supply, supporting emergency shut-off and isolation duties across fuel handling, tanker equipment and industrial process systems.
Key features
- Fail-safe spring return (Fail Closed) – defined valve shutdown position on air failure.
- Rack & pinion mechanism – dependable, repeatable quarter-turn operation.
- NAMUR accessory interface for direct mounting of solenoid valves and control accessories.
- ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 mounting for straightforward valve installation and interchangeability.
- Bi-directional travel adjustment via body-mounted end stops (typical ±5° adjustment, 85°–95°).
- Industrial construction – hard anodised aluminium body with durable protective finishes and engineered bearing surfaces for long service life.
Technical specification (ASR 130 platform)
- Actuation type: Pneumatic, spring return (fail-safe)
- Rotation: 90° quarter-turn (adjustable end stops)
- Maximum working pressure: 8 bar
- Standard temperature range (seal dependent): typically -30°C to +100°C with NBR seals (other seal options available for extended temperature duties)
- Mounting standards: NAMUR (accessories) and ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 (valve interface)
Torque output (ASR 130 / S14 spring set)
Torque varies through the stroke (typical of spring return actuators). For sizing guidance, typical figures are:
- Air stroke torque at 6 bar: approx. 102 Nm (0°) / 95 Nm (90°)
- Spring stroke torque (fail-safe return): approx. 47 Nm (start) / 30 Nm (end)
Selection guidance: always size the actuator against the valve’s required break/seat torque (including a suitable safety factor) and confirm the required fail-safe direction (Fail Closed) before installation.
