The Prosense PE-KAYO Series is a dual-function industrial detector that combines flammable gas monitoring with physical impact detection. Designed for use in high-risk environments, it provides continuous detection of combustible gases from 0 to 100% LEL using a precision catalytic sensor and outputs a scalable 4-20mA analog signal.
In addition to gas monitoring, the integrated 3-axis accelerometer detects physical impacts or shocks to the detector or its mounting infrastructure—providing an extra safety layer in busy areas such as loading bays, refuelling zones, or EV-petrol hybrid forecourts. This feature enables automatic alarm or shutoff protocols in response to vehicle collisions or external disturbances.
The detector is fully certified for ATEX Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas, and housed in a rugged IP65-rated enclosure with a ½” NPT threaded cable gland entry for secure cable termination. Compatible PR-NYY12 cable glands are sold separately for streamlined installation.
Each unit is pre-calibrated to its designated gas type and factory tested. The PE-KAYO series is ideal for safety-critical locations requiring both vapour detection and collision awareness in a single, compact, and certified device.
