Positive-displacement transfer sets

Gear-pump TransferSets use two positive-displacement pumps mounted on a common skid or baseplate. They can be supplied for duty/standby operation with shared manifolds, isolation and non-return valves.

When to consider a gear-pump set

A gear-pump arrangement may suit applications where the liquid viscosity, required pressure, flow characteristic or installation conditions make it preferable to a standard self-priming transfer pump. Selection must be based on the complete operating duty.

• Liquid type, viscosity and operating temperature
• Required operating flow
• Maximum and normal discharge pressure
• Suction conditions
• Required motor speed and electrical supply
• Control and pressure-protection requirements

The GP size number identifies the pump family and must not be presented as a guaranteed litres-per-minute figure. Actual performance depends on speed, pressure, liquid viscosity and the selected motor.

Installation position

Gear-pump TransferSets are skid-mounted and intended for internal installation inside a suitable weather-proof building, plant room or enclosure supplied by others.
