The SGB 104715 Modbus communication module provides both Modbus RTU via RS-485 and Modbus TCP/IP via RJ45 Ethernet for connecting a compatible SGB leak detector to a higher-level monitoring system.
It enables operating data and alarm statuses to be transmitted to a building management system (BMS), PLC or SCADA platform, giving operators and maintenance teams central visibility of leak detector performance.
Key features
- Combined Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP communication interfaces.
- Transfers leak detector operating information and alarm statuses to a higher-level application.
- Supports centralised monitoring and the use of operating data for maintenance planning.
- Suitable for specified new installations or compatible existing detectors, subject to compatibility checks.
Available monitoring information
Depending on the connected detector model and version, transmitted information can include:
- Operating status and current operating pressure.
- Leak tightness value.
- Pump status and applicable alarm statuses.
- Dry filter warning on applicable FC devices.
- Service notification on applicable S-version detectors.
Compatible SGB leak detectors
SGB lists the 104715 Modbus RTU/TCP communication module as compatible with the following leak detector models:
- DL 100–240 V
- DL ELC FCM
- DLG
- DLR-G
- DLR-GS
- DLR-P
- DLR-P CV
- LDU 22
- VL 100–240 V
- VLR 100–240 V
- VLR
- VLXE
- VLXE-A-Ex
- VLXE-S 90–340 M
- VLXE-S 350 M
Ordering and retrofit requirements
For an existing detector, compatibility must also be checked against the individual unit and its software version. SGB configures the Modbus board according to the leak detector serial number, and installation or retrofit may require additional changes.
Provide PFS with the detector model, serial number, software version if known, and details of the receiving monitoring system so the appropriate configuration can be established.
System integration
The module provides the communication interface. Software implementation, visualisation, data logging and further processing are carried out by the customer, plant operator or system integrator. Remote access and alarm notifications depend on the capabilities and configuration of the receiving system.
